Neat to see some of these homes has survived in some shape or form. Christopher Moyers' home has a story that has been passed down through the generations. It seems the original home may have been cut in half when 2 of his children could not come to an agreement on who should inherit the old home. It was decided it would be cut in half and each would get a section. According to local lore - half the home is still in existence but has been incorporated into another home in White Pine but is no longer viewable from the outside.

Wow, this is a fascinating collection of historical homes connected to the veterans of the 8th Virginia regiment. It's incredible to see how these houses, some still standing, others preserved in photographs, hold stories of valor and perseverance from the Revolutionary War era. These homes offer a glimpse into the lives of these brave individuals who played crucial roles in shaping the history of Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Indiana. It's heartwarming to know that efforts are being made to preserve and share this rich heritage with future generations. Kudos to the owners and organizations involved in preserving these precious pieces of history.
